Timco Rubber Dresses Down for Down Syndrome

December 1, 2009

Becky and Stephania with Timco employees

As with many businesses, Fridays are casual days at the offices of Timco Rubber Products. Employees "dress down" by wearing casual attire such as jeans, tee shirts and sweat shirts. On Monday, October 26, Timco Rubber employees also dressed down to support programs sponsored by "The Up Side of Downs of Greater Cleveland." "The Up Side of Downs" provides support, education and advocacy for people with Down syndrome, their families and communities throughout Northeast Ohio.

Timco employees contributed over $200 to "The Up Side of Downs," and the daughter of Timco's Becky Rosciszewski, Stephania, visited our office to help brighten our Monday! For more information about "The Up Side of Downs" go to www.usod.org.

Timco Rubber Goes Green

August 22, 2008

"Going green" is all over the place these days- on TV, on the internet, on billboards, in our schools and in our communities. This trend is even being seen in companies and corporations around the world. The misconception is that only large corporations can make a real difference. In reality, half of all commercial and industrial energy consumption is by small businesses. Small businesses can make a difference and are becoming part of this movement in droves.

The business case for "going green" is quite clear and doesn't have to be expensive or complicated. Being environmentally conscious positively affects the bottom line. Other than monetary gain, being green builds a company's brand and makes a difference in the communities in which it operates. By aligning actions with values, the company works to boost the brand and improve consumers' view of the company. Consumer and employees' attitudes are rapidly changing. Consumers want to buy from companies that are actively participating in conservation and employees want to work for "green" companies.

Being "green" doesn't have to be an impossible undertaking- it is simply doing more to do less harm to the planet. This is the most sustainable and profitable way to operate in today's business world. One of the most important aspects of being successful is changing the behaviors and attitudes of the company's employees.

Timco Rubber has been conserving and recycling for over nine years- long before the "green" movement. Timco Rubber Vice President John Kuzmick explains that the decision to participate in conservation was simple and just made sense for the company. Timco Rubber saves approximately $5,000 a year by recycling and following certain procedures. This number continues to grow each year as the costs of operation increase. Even the simplest acts, such as turning the A/C thermostat down on the weekends to conserve energy, helps Timco Rubber keep costs down.

There are numerous ways that Timco Rubber helps to conserve the planet and participates in the green movement. These include:

Timco Rubber is dedicated to providing quality products but is also committed to developing lasting relationships with its customers, suppliers and the community in which it operates. Being environmentally conscious, recycling and conserving resources shows that Timco Rubber is dedicated to being the best company it can be. Timco Rubber hopes to build a brand that is synonymous with conservation, sustainability and will continue to be driven to improve its products and services in the future.
